They will be supporting us through the Coop Community Fund until November 2018 so do remember to use your Coop Membership Card in store and select us as your charity to support by going to www.coop.co.uk/membership. So far this store has raised over £470, and through the two previous rounds Coop Food customers have raised a fantastic £4800 for Bristol After Stroke. Projects supported include our weekly South Bristol Support Group in Bedminster and the Bristol Stroke Cafe held monthly at St Monica Trust in Westbury-on-Trym.
Bristol After Stroke is delighted to have been chosen as Bristol & Clifton Golf Club's Captain's Charity again this year. Captain Alan Thoy will be hosting a special Charity Golf Day on Friday 8th June 2018 to raise much needed funds. As Bristol After Stroke celebrates its 35th birthday this year such funds will help us in our ambition to raise an additional £100,000 for services for people affected by stroke in Bristol. Bristol & Clifton Golf Club and Bristol After Stroke are pleased that wealth management company, Brewin Dolphin, will again be the main sponsor of the event.
Bristol After Stroke received a hugely generous donation from employees of engineering company MBDA (UK) Ltd based in Filton last week. After a year of cake sales, bike races and other competitions, and a Charity Christmas Ball, they raised over £6000 for two local Bristol charities - Bristol After Stroke and All-Aboard Watersports.
We were delighted to welcome special guests, volunteers and service users to help celebrate 35 years of support people after stroke. We heard about the incredible work of our dedicated staff and volunteers in all the activities and services we provide, and the impact this has had on people affected by stroke.
Over 18 months and supported by an energetic, committed and experienced volunteer, Bristol Area Stroke Foundation has worked hard on developing a new and relevant name and identity. We believe that Bristol After Stroke puts our message out in a direct and comprehensible way.
