Once again this May – and for the third successive year – we're calling all the aspiring Mary Berrys and Paul Hollywoods out there to don their pinnies and get baking!
Throughout this May, we are inviting our supporters across Bristol and South Gloucestershire to host a tea party or cake sale to help people rebuild their lives after a stroke.
This has become one of our most sociable as well as successful fundraisers in the last few years… a great way to get friends and neighbours chatting, as well as raise awareness about stroke.
Whether you gather friends at home, set out your very best china in a hall, or pack flasks for a picnic, your support will make a real difference.
Every donation - from a few pounds to a few pennies - helps someone adapt to life after stroke. Last year, thanks to YOUR generosity, we raised over £4,000... this year we hope to raise even more.
Many of our services rely on donations to continue, including specialist counselling, stroke support groups, cafés, peer mentoring, and physical rehabilitation. Your contribution helps ensure these vital services remain available to those who need them.
How to get involved… in 4 easy steps
1 Choose your date and venue, then invite your friends or colleague.
2 Ask for a donation or set suggested donations for cakes.
3 Bake some cakes, put the kettle on, enjoy the day!
4 Send on the money you’ve raised to support stroke affected people – or you can set up a JustGiving Page.
To register your tea party or cake sale, email: [email protected]
Once registered, you’ll receive free resources including invitations, logos, recipes, and helpful tips.
We can also post you Bristol After Stroke cake‑label cards if you’d like some.
Organising fund raising made easy
You can set up a JustGiving page under our campaign:
www.justgiving.com/campaign/putthetinstroke2026
Guests can donate directly there, and the funds come straight to us.
Alternatively, you can transfer or send the money directly – full details will be included in your registration email.
Thank you - and happy tea and cake making!
