This year’s Annual Charity Walk has been given a double boost… with Cabot Circus lending their support and £10k of match funding from the fabulous John James Bristol Foundation.
Last September, the Bristol After Stroke team sat down and asked: How on Earth are we going to match this year’s Charity Walk?
Not only had we had a record entry, and a record amount raised in sponsorship… but the John James Bristol Foundation had match-funded us to the tune of £10,000.
We could scarcely believe the amount raised: £35,738. And we’d need a small miracle to get close to that in 2026.
But already the signs are good that we can raise another blockbuster total.
We have our three sponsors in place – covering all of our costs.
Our posters are now gracing Cabot Circus and soon we will have big digital signage there too, promoting the event to local shoppers.
Already we have people signed up to take part and raising sponsorship: one walker has already. raised over £2,000.
And we have just heard that John James Bristol Foundation is once again providing £10,000 of match funding.
That means that every pound YOU can raise would be worth £2 to us. Plus any Gift Aid claimed as a result!
The funds raised in 2025 have already made a massive difference to what we’ve been doing in 2026… supporting our groups and activities as well as funding the life-changing work of our Stroke Support Coordinators.
