In a few months’ time (June 15 -21) we’ll be playing our part in Loneliness Awareness Week - the annual campaign hosted by the Marmalade Trust to reduce stigma and encourage conversations about loneliness.
Having a stroke can be an isolating experience for many people, as it can sometimes lead them to be cut them off from their friends, neighbours, family and work colleagues.
At Bristol After Stroke, we often hear how our groups and activities have helped those who have had a stroke, by connecting them with others who have gone through the same experience… forging new friendships and rebuilding self-confidence.
We would love to share some of the inspiring stories of our group members and volunteers – harnessing their positive experiences to encourage others to make the leap and take part in our activities.
If YOU have a story to share, anonymously if you wish, do please get in touch! A few minutes of your time could make a lifetime of difference to someone who is finding it hard to reconnect.
