The last free information and discussion session of 2025 from the Stroke Health Integration Team (HIT) is happening at 12.30pm on Thursday 11th December - and will provide invaluable insights on the Assistive Technology now available to improve the lives of stroke-affected people and their carers.

The Stroke Health Integration Team (HIT) brings together clinicians, commissioners, academics, care and support providers and other healthcare professionals, as well as people who have had strokes and their families and carers. The wide-ranging monthly online sessions are informative, accessible... and available to all.

So what is this month's session all about?

Assistive Technology (AT) plays a crucial role in supporting individuals who have experienced a stroke, as well as their carers.  By addressing physical, cognitive, and communication challenges, AT can significantly enhance independence, safety, and overall quality of life.

This session will explore how everyday technologies can empower individuals who have experienced a stroke and provide reassurance to carers both in and outside the home environment. We will examine the benefits and limitations of various AT solutions to help you identify options that may suit your individual needs.

The session will be delivered by Specialist Occupational Therapists Matthew Brockwell and Karen Taylor from South Gloucestershire Council’s Assistive Technology Team.
