One of our annual highlights is always “Wellbeing Day” – bringing together health professionals, BAS staff, volunteers and carers, as well as stroke-affected people themselves.

It’s an incredible opportunity to share experiences and explore inspiring new ways to improve our physical, emotional and mental health.

And the 2025 Wellbeing Day, which takes place on Friday 17 October, promises to be the very best yet, with an exciting lineup of speakers and a packed agenda of activities, discussions and presentations.

What…
As ever, stroke-affected people themselves will be front and centre of the day, and in our “Try something new” discussion, our lived experience panel will be talking about the steps they have taken to re-set their lives with a different or challenging new activity.

A panel of health professionals and wellbeing specialists will also be on hand to offer their expert advice on what might be right for you… and answer your questions.

One of the major ambitions for many people after a stroke will be to return to work, and we’ll be learning all about a pilot course that has been supporting local people to do just that.

There will also be a showing of a new film raising awareness of the Black experience of stroke; and “singing us out” will be the wonderful Aphasia Choir - demonstrating how music can help you recover your voice.

Why…
The whole day is geared to inspire you to explore new avenues to embrace your recovery journey and to help you live an active and fulfilling life following stroke… and we’d really love to see you there!

Where…
It all takes place at Oatley Hall, courtesy of St Monica Trust, at Cote Lane, Westbury-on-Trym, Bristol, BS9 3UN.  As ever, we are enormously grateful for their kind support.

When…
Friday 17 October. Coffee and tea will be available from 10.00am, the presentations kick off at 10.45am, and the day closes at 2.30pm.

And next…
To help us plan the day, and to guarantee your place, we would really appreciate you letting us know if you / and or a family carer would like to attend.
