We are delighted to have an interesting and useful programme for our volunteers this year:

  • The Diabetes and Nutrition Service (BCH) will give a talk on what diabetes is, and how we can best support people in our services with this condition
  • Shanti Lewis, our Lead Counsellor, on active listening.  Good listening skills make sure our service users feel heard, comfortable and welcome in our services
  • Data protection and confidentiality – what’s OK to share and what’s not.  Sometimes it can be difficult to know what is OK to share with other members, volunteers and staff.  Chief Executive, Rebecca Sheehy, will lead a discussion on this area
  • Taking Bristol After Stroke forward – discussion on strategy and asking our volunteers for their opinions about our services and activities.

There will also be plenty of time to talk and socialise over lunch and breaks – we hope it will be an enjoyable day!

The Volunteer Day takes place at the Vassall Centre, Fishponds. For more information about volunteering with Bristol After Stroke click here, and to book you place contact us
