Walk with us and help us to rebuild lives after stroke

Event date: Saturday 23rd September

Help us celebrate 40 years of supporting stroke affected people and put on your walking shoes and walk with us to raise funds for Bristol After Stroke.

You can join us for a wonderful 1 mile accessible walk around Eastville Park, or if you are able, for a 6 mile walk along the beautiful Frome Valley Walkway to Oldbury Court, returning back to Eastville Park.

And if you really want to challenge yourself you may consider doing the walk twice!

This walk is a great opportunity to support a much needed cause while discovering this hidden beauty spot within our city.

We will have a special scavenger hunt on our 1 mile accessible route and wildlife spotting sheet along our 6 mile route for children and welcome you to join us after for refreshments at the Nissen Hut. We will even have water available for your dog.

All proceeds from the walk will help support our important services which help people in Bristol and South Gloucestershire to rebuild their lives after a stroke. This year we hope to support over 1,000 people. Your support can help make this happen.

We rely on the generosity of people like you to continue our work and support those who need it most.

Event details

Start and finish: Eastville Park, Bristol, BS5 6XA

Routes: 1 or 6 miles.

The shorter (1 mile) route is fully accessible and suitable for everyone. It will take you around the main part of Eastville Park.

The longer (6 mile) route is more challenging, across different terrain, with some hills and will not be accessible for those using a wheelchair. It will take you along the beautiful Frome Valley Walkway, where you can (hopefully) enjoy wildlife spotting and take in it’s natural beauty as you walk.

Dogs are welcome on both walks, but must be kept on a lead at all times.

After you have finished your walk, we invite you to join us for refreshments at the Nissen Hut in Eastville Park.

Times:

Start at 11am and you can do the walk at your leisure.
Once you have finished the walk we kindly ask you to return your lanyard, given on arrival, at our desk, which will close at 4pm.

Parking: There is a small car park at Eastville Park. If this is full, please park on nearby streets.

How we’ll support you:

We will send you a welcome letter with information about the day and a map.
